Remember to LOVE Your Neighbor

Warning/Disclaimer:  There is language in this entry that some may find offensive.

I wish people would back the hell off of Rob Bell...  He wrote a book.  Big damn deal.  Lots of people write books and a host of those books are deemed "controversial" or even "heresy."  And?  Rob Bell released Love Wins about a month ago and since it went public it's been like the trial of Jesus....but who should be Barabbas?  John Piper?

A few days ago I was sent a poll on Facebook about Rob Bell.  I was supposed to choose which of the following I thought Rob Bell was:
--Universalist. The End. So there.  (Really, that was the first choice.)
--Has good points, but some stuff is over the top.
--Handsome. Who cares about anything else?

I didn't respond.  Whose fucking business is it to determine who or what Rob Bell is?  How dare we even try.  I love his "Come Clean" video.  People need to pull their heads out of their collective asses.  They talk about shit they don't understand and call it 'free speech.'  Well in the name of the Bill of Rights, shut the hell up.  Or, worse...they stamp God's name on it, like God hates Rob Bell for his opinions....because God cares about petty shit like that (which I'm sure God honestly does....).  Really?

I wonder if God is thinking, "My children, you keep missing the point.  Stop hating each other and attaching my name to it...I gave you my son to show you how to love....and what are you doing?  You're crucifying a preacher because he wrote a book.  What part of "love your neighbor as yourself" was unclear?"

Rob Bell wrote a book...and it goes a little like this:

"May you experience this vast, expansive, infinite, indestructible, love that has been yours all along. May you discover that this love is as wide as the sky and as small as the cracks in your heart no one knows about. And may you know, deep in your bones, that love wins."

Remember to love your neighbor....and if your neighbor happens to be Rob Bell, give him a high five for me.
